Poets. Spoken Word artists. Storytellers. Singer/Songwriters. Wordsmiths of all makes and models are invited to show off their creative, literary sides on the Cambridge Arts Festival’s literary stage, Poets’ Alley, Saturday, June 5.

Applications for Literary Artists are available at http://www.cambridgeartsfestival.com/OnlineApps/CAF_Literary_Application2010.html

The application deadline has been extended, but time is running out. Submit your application form today, by mail or email (mail@cambridgeartsfestival.com or bashwell@gmail.com ).

Since its inception, the Cambridge Arts Festival has provided a showcase for local artists to display their art forms in a pleasant location to be viewed by members of their own community. Vital to the Festival’s mandate is the effort to provide a forum for local writers and poets and to promote the literary arts within the Cambridge area. Be a part of this growing tradition!

The winning poets from the Cambridge Arts Festival’s Word Up! Poetry Contest will also be invited to read at the festival and have their pieces published in the festival’s program.

The 2010 festival, sponsored in part by the City of Cambridge, will be held at Cambridge Civic Square, Dickson Street in the historic downtown Galt section of Cambridge.

What a fantastic beginning!
I'd like to extend if you are interested to offer this, i am a radio host at soundfm and also have a history of organizing spoken words events in the tri city area....we have a great community of poets and i loved seeing and hearing so many gifted wordsmiths that I had never seen before.
I spoke with Tamaj...Tamash (sp? please forgive the spelling)...i would love to connect with her and have her perform her spoken word on my radio show...
Also, if of interest would love to have the winner of each slam to be interviewed and have the opportunity to perform on the radio program as well.
Would love to connect with lisa or maggie about this, and of course how else I can support a wonderful event.

sincerely,
KLP
